Caracol Cochinilla

Caracol (snail) is the symbol for communication, it is an intricate motif to weave. The curve, that resembles a tongue, is the most difficult technique to achieve on a tapestry weaving, it is a challenge among weavers. The Caracol rug reunites many emotions for our family, since Fe’s father  taught him to weave and appreciate the intricacy of this design. Preserving this rug pattern is a way. To keep the communication with our ancestors, it honors Fe’s father legacy, we keep him alive in each thread on the curve.
